This only works with chrysler ignitions, they are notorious for malfunctions/bent wafers etc. this is a good temporary fix, but the problem won't go away, the ignition still will need replacing. Over time this temp fix will stop working.
why dont you just shake the steering wheel back and forth instead of hitting the key with a screw driver.. 99% of the time it isn't the ignition that is the problem.. it is because your steering wheel is locked...

For some reason, the key in my Mazda Protege5 gets stuck in the ignition (can't turn on or out of ACC and can't pull it out)...will try this!
