Jeep revealed its all-new 2008 Liberty SUB today outside the Jacob Javits in New York City. It was pouring rain, and the handlers demonstrated the new canvas sliding roof despite the threat of water damage.
The old Liberty is the goofiest, corniest looking POS ever produced until the CompAss came out. 100% of reviews always mention how CUTE or GIRLY the old Liberty was. It was corny and goofy looking. The new one looks awesome. To bad you can only get a turdly 3.7L in it.
I think it's decent looking and is a great design bringing several ideas into one. On the other hand, what's under the hood is a whole other story though :)...
With all due respect, the Liberty came out replacing the Jeep Cherokees. The body design is a decent cross between the old Cherokee (which is more authentic than what you're thinking of) and the Liberty. However, the change in body style Jeep made when producing the Liberty called for a name change. The original Cherokee owners typically don't approve of the original Liberty's just as much as you don't approve of the '08.
wow, i had a 1988 jeep cherokee with 266k original miles but traded it in for a 2002 liberty. I still miss it and yeah, nothing should replace a
cherokee. I got the libby when it first came out without any electronic crap, its so easy to drive and love the power that it provides especially offroadin'. Now i'm thinking of trading it in for the real jeep.....yeah!...Wrangler rubicon! I agree with Jaimeclown....they really did threw the great style of the old liberty to the dump.
