3rd race of the Pukekohe, New Zealand round of the Australian V8 Supercar championships, 2005.

At the track it begins to rain heavily. Jamie Whincup in the #23 Tasman Commodore runs wide at the final corner coming onto the main straight. His re-entry onto the track pushes Craig Baird in the #48 WPS Falcon across the road. Paul Dumbrell in the #11 Castrol LPR commodore tries to go up the inside of Baird, but chaos ensues.

Baird spins and crashes backwards through a fence (destroying a PA system) also forcing the marshall's to duck for cover. Dumbrell also has heavy front on contact. The ensuing dust cloud leaves the #34 GRM commodore of Garth Tander unsighted, and he is forced to crash to avoid hitting Baird.

Baird and Dumbrell were winded, Tander and the marshalls were un-hurt.

The race was red-flagged, and was not finished until dark. Kiwi Greg Murphy took the win, his 4th in a row in his home country.
