Say what you like, the musical numbers are still better than "Rent".

It's sad the number of people unable to make the imaginitive leap to "get" this series. It was a wonderfully dark, nuanced cop show, and the songs carried the power and insight of Shakespearean soliloquies, giving more insight into character and motivation and setting than an hour of dialogue could. Great stuff.

I think you are spot on, audiences are far accepting of hybidity now. They have remade 'Fame'. Imagine an episode directed by Baz Luhrmann?

The stupidest television show ever aired. I agree with steinber a few comments down; it's unbelievable this actually made it through all levels of the network management and onto the airwaves. Bochco must still cringe when he thinks of this disaster, if he's able to.

Sorry man but I cannot go there. Plus fromage and it's eligibility as a success on television today only confirms that it's shit. Well meaning by people who did other very great work to be sure.

I dunno...with the success of stuff like High School Musical, ABC bringing a revival of something like this could actually be successful. I would love to see a show like this =D, that's why I enjoyed Eli Stone's first season, they threw in musical numbers, and Drew Carey when they would just "break out into song and dance," I just love the whole idea of people randomly breaking out into song in their normal lives.

Goodness, do people not watch television anymore? Of course this was a bit rubbish, but there were a few good tunes in it - America's Next Top Model is miles worse, and has no good tunes. And I could listen to Randy Newman sing the telephone directory, and he'd still be good.
