Christopher Hitchens analyzes "gods plan" with incredible amounts of clarity and humour.

The title of the debate is " does religion poison everything", and this debate took place at the festival of dangerous ideas on the 6th of October 2009.

  • It is only by Youtube that I came across this MAN. It was about 6 months ago and I have watched nearly every video I could find about him since. The first thing I do when I go onto Youtube is search for this guys latest videos. I am Irish and have always sat on the sideline when it came to religion and the belief in a 'god'. Thank you so much for making me think about and question my faith. I now consider myself an atheist and have no problem saying it to anyone. Please get well soon my friend.

  • So funny! Well done Hitch!

"Also, yo say what he is saying is inaccurate because you BELEIEVE something? "

I said "believe" because I could be wrong. I was being cautious.

I don't know why I mentioned Newtonian based approximations of the expansion of the universe (I think that is how Hubble thought of it at the time.In Newtonian Cosmology, instead of the universe expanding there is a force pulling galaxies apart).

The important point is that Hubble observed the expansion of the universe not the acceleration of expansion. The accelerated expansion was discovered much more recently. It is the reason dark energy is postulated.
