you should actually tap with your left hand as the wheel spins into it. Unless you throw clockwise then you tap with your right hand.

to answer your question, when you actually tap the pot it will be furthest from your left finger and mostly to the right, but you hold your left finger there as a sign to tell you that right after you feel it touch you should tap soon after, I hope that helps

Did you tap with your right hand when it was touching our left finger tip?
Or do you tap with your right hand when it is mostly to the right of center (furthest from your left finger)
