Journeyman Pictures apologises for any offensive or vulgar comments left by viewers of this film - obviously they have nothing better to do!

The eviction and slaughter of over a million Armenians in Anatolia began in 1915. There's little doubt Turkey was behind this massive ethnic cleansing. Yet the Turkish government denies the historical facts.
Almost a century later, any mention of the genocide is still taboo. A law designed to protect 'Turkishness' is used to sue those who challenge the official version. Nobel Prize winning author Orhan Pamuk was sent to prison for speaking out about his country's guilt. More tragically, Armenian journalist Hrant Dink was recently murdered for his efforts to bridge the divide between both people. The father of his alleged killer claims that his son was only led astray "because he loves his country and his nation." Tens of thousands protested against nationalist violence after Dink's murder, but ultra-nationalism is still rife. Turkish MPs consider any hints to the genocide 'insulting' and authorities turn a blind eye to nationalist excesses. The argument over the Armenian genocide stretches beyond Turkey's borders. As the country is a key ally in the Middle East, the US has avoided taking a clear stance on the subject. For the Armenian Foreign Minister, "the sense of tragedy is being exacerbated with every passing day Turkey continues to deny." Although it has caused enough sorrow, this festering hatred keeps claiming lives.

  • Armenians were exiled. And yes there were deaths due to starvation, disease even bad behavior.

However Empire couldnt even protect its army from cold and 90000 soldiers frozen.

At the same time Empire was defending Gelibolu against england and australia(!)

There were lots of minority gangs(not only Armenians) which fighting with empire.

Even Turkey raised against Ottoman Empire. (There is a death order for Former leader Atatürk)

    Just see the whole picture.

I dont know who died first but enough.

  • You can kill me but cannot make me accept so-called 'Armenian genocide Lie'. Why don't we talk about innocent MILLIONS of TURKS killed BY ARMENIAN RACISTS... in World War I.

    Realty= what/who to trust

Im Turkish. And I dont want to give any single land to another country.

However I dont hate Armenians. And i see no reason to have boundries between us. Goverment doesn't even support diplomatic relations which i hate.

Armenians and Turks should travel between their country freely.

However this wont happen in a day or two you know. Hate and in-acceptance (you can count me for inacceptance too) doesnt goes away that easly.

  • @chosenoneoranother

    Conflict with Army-Armenian.

  • It ensues from the foregoing that there was not any Armenian issue until the end of the 19th century nor were any problems that the Armenian citizens could not solve with the assistance of Turkish administration.

  • Having been exempted from military service and of most of the taxes, they excelled in trade, agriculture, artisanry and rose to major posts in the administration. For the services that they rendered to the Ottoman Empire, the Armenians were allowed to settle in the regions vacated after the Greek rebellion and were given the prestigious title of “the faithful nation”.

  • The Armenian Patriarch had the power of appointing and dismissing clergy members, banning the religious rites, collecting dues from the community, concluding the marriage formalities and even pronouncing imprisonment decisions.

Until the end of the 19th century, the Armenians lived their golden age under the Ottoman rule, also with the vast tolerance of the Turkish people.

  • The Selchuks saved the Armenians from the Byzantine persecution and offered them the opportunity of leading a decent life when they secured the control of Anatolia in 1071. Under the reign of Mehmed II, freedom of thought and belief was granted to the Armenians and the right to establish a patriarchate of their own for governing the community’s religious and social activities.
