know what you should've bought? muslin. also, you can ignore grommets and do eyelets instead by hand. if you use a nice thick thread (like embroidery floss), they'll end up being pretty strong.

also, those puffy sleeves, just measure your arms in the two spots where they need to be, and make a rectangle with those measurements on top and bottom plus a few inches. sew hems with room for elastic and leave space height-wise to make the poof. then make tubes, add elastic, and BAM. puffy sleeve thingys.
