Time Capsule Discovered in Smith Hall at UMass Lowell

Workers tearing down Smith Hall at UMass Lowell to make way for the new Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center unearthed a time capsule placed in the building's cornerstone in 1947. UMass Lowell Music Professor, Alex Ruthman and his wife, Anne tipped off officials after noticing it sitting on top the cornerstone in photo from the original 1947 cornerstone laying in a Centennial History book.

I've been watching this demolition going on for the last week. Sad to see the building go. I lived there for 2 years in the late 80's.

Can I get a brick from it?

I've taken some pics last week. This time capsule is cool. It is in the rear of what was the cafeteria when I went there and worked there.
