This short segment features a company in Dripping Springs, Texas, called Tank Town that collects and bottles rain water. Richard Heinichen is the founder and head of Richard's Rainwater, which is sold across central Texas. He discusses how and why he started the company. • If you're thinking about putting in a rainwater system, come to the Rainwater Revival in Dripping Springs Oct. 9, 2010.

  • I thought it didn't rain in Dripping Springs or Austin, Texas until I watched this video because Mr. Ronald James Kolodzy (Ron Kolodzy), born on April 29, 1957, used to say, "It don't rain in TEEEEXAS!" when he taught Texas History in 1996-1997. He then moved to Austin to teach such things to the kids at Dripping Springs because it seems more believable when you don't have hurricanes and tropical storms blowing that theory out of the water (literally).

  • they have the one with the turtle on it at the comunity library. thats cool

  • Excellent. This is the first video on Youtube I've seen on the subject though the practice exists elsewhere.Anyway better get your crazy water rights issues sorted before someone in the future makes an issue of RW collection as a deprivation for the downstream users. The National Rainwater Policy of Srilanka, has incorporated the following statement."Harvested Rainwater is for the benefit of all,to be held on the custodianship of the collector, in the ecosystem, as a service to the public."
