Ms. Peaches and her restaurant played a major role in Jackson, MS during the Civil Rights Movement by feeding activists and becoming a meeting place for the NAACP.

Opening its doors in 1961, Peaches Restaurant remains one of the original Black owned businesses of the Farish Street District in downtown Jackson, MS.
