  • Reminds me of Magic Sam & Jimmy Dawkins..has that retro , pure vintage sound that i LOVE. One of the best Blues guitar videos on youtube...ever thought of jamming with Kirk Fletcher?

  • @taildragger53 thanks for your kind comment brother....I was coming through a PA system too....I love the pure and richness of those guys tones back then, spent several years without any effects just electric guitar. Kirk Fletcher!!! is amazing!!!, he's on my FB page actually lol, if we lived in the same country, OF COURSE i would lol!, any day. He is great!

  • @MrCaribbean Yes, i speak to Kirk on "myspace" alot and he's a sweet guy. It's so refreshing to see young. black guys playing Blues guitar again..at one time i thought Kenny Neal was going to be the last. You're amongst a rare breed taking it back to T Bone & Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown.

    I wish you every success.

  • @taildragger53 I have serious interest in coming to canada, wonna meet men like Jack de Kyzer and jam, thanks for your comments, i appreciate it ALOT..keeps me goin, cause there is NOTHING like this in Trinidad and Tobago. its the worst here for people who are serious about making GOOD music. are you on FB??

  • I had to put you on my faves and place you on my channel where you can be viewed by other people. Must not hide you under a bushel. You're too awesome. Plus, you come across as a person with a good attitude and pleasant natured. I hope you get all of your dreams to come true.

  • SUPER!

  • @MrCaribbean 200% correct. The music scene offends me. It's the saddest time for black music esp for someone like me who was raised on Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and Aretha as being REAL R'n'B ...today R'n'B means listening to a barrage of insults. Why people like to be sworn at beats me! (ha ha!)..they could join youtube for that! But gimmicks make cash..and that's all it is.

For most, Clapton is sacred and that's another thing i can't work out. Saw him 1st in 1966. Unimpressed.

  • @MrCaribbean Yes, i am on facebook..will send you my name in a p.m. My ethnic background is very mixed...raised in UK but my parents were from Seychelles, Mauritius, and St Croix. Canada is not that big on Blues unfortunately inspite of having raised guys like

Jeff Healey. Barenaked Ladies & Neil Young rule.

  • @MrCaribbean YOU'RE better than Jack De Kyzer!! Trust me on this one...he's just a run-of-the -mill Colin James sound..all influenced by SRV. Nothing wrong with this but everyone tends to sound similar. Colin Linden is a superb Canadian Blues guitarist who has his OWN sound, taught by Howlin' Wolf.

Funny enough i was talking to a guy on youtube (pride999) who says that the Blues is NOT the basis/source for Jazz and that Carribean music was the foundation.

  • @taildragger53 So true, you are on the money, some people who dont know the history or dont know better thinks it started with SRV, but they need to listen to who he listen too ;-) This music is here to stay, I dont know why there isn't enough of the young black men involved, ESPECIALLY in america, all they seem to want to do is drop their pants bellow their asses and call each other "N" WORD AND DOG. :-(

  • @MrCaribbean What you've said about imitating others is 300% correct. What people forget is that SRV even copied Hendrix's dress sense. I've always admired the obscure players that few know..Hop Wilson,Jimmy Johnson, Earl Hooker,

Jimmy Dawkins, Phil Upchurch, Eric Gale, Sonny Sharrock, Hiram Bullock, Vernon Reid and Eddie Hazel. Bola Sete,Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, & Wes i recall seeing and WES is the ULTIMATE. Ernest Ranglin is a killer player. Saw him 1st in 1966.
