you actually just proved the salesman right ...
that pencil isn't broken ...

I only read in the title: Chrysler Town & Country Minivan Power Sliding, so I didn't expect this :(

SAFE WAY TO DO IT:
1. buy a minivan with no power doors
2. get rid of the power door shitbox
3. use the new van
-
you should have done your research and not bought a chrysler shitbox in the first place.
-
people dont understand that when you add the power doors as a feature they are motorized and things happen! especially in the winter. let the door go and it will eventually re correct itsself! and if you dont like the power doors messing up. by the cheap vans with no power doors

OMG..

Seriously you people are idiots, kids get their fingers slammed in doors all the time, at least with this system there a chance it won't happen vs a conventional door where there isn't any stopping it once you are in the process of closing it.
If you have hands the size of a pencil, then you shouldn't be driving in the first place :-)

We're talking about a 2 year old here who wasn't driving obviously. So because she's not the driver her hands shouldn't protected from a faulty and dangerous vehicle?

@3KidsnUs
You as a responsible parent should have your children stapped in thier seatbelts and unable to reach the door jamb during the closing procedure.
Just because a salesman says it's not going to break a pencil doesn't mean anything at all. Get the answers from the service department, not sales.

This happened after the kids were out of the van, not while leaving. But you are correct, I shouldn't have put faith in a salesman, but at the same time, they have a duty to provide honest information.

@3KidsnUs
They have a duty to sell the product.
I've known too many salesmen to think otherwise. Any manufacturer. Any product.
Another thing is, when did parents pass the responsibility of thier childres' safety on others? You tell your children to keep their hands clear of the door, just like any other door. They'll learn a painfull lesson, but there will not be broken bones.

Umm hello? We're talking about a 2 year old here, since when do they listen to anything a parent says.
