Who made up the story that koalas were cute and cuddly? They have massive claws, sharp pointy teeth and a cantankerous nature borne of their gum leaf addiction. Here, Jaybo the wonder dog demonstrates what to do if you find one on the verandah.

@bestamerica Not a pet. Wild animal. Some are raised by people and are friendly. This one and the dog get along okay.

That's such a cute koala!! Are they in Australia?

@mysmasha Yep, that's correct. They live in the south-eastern corner of the country, are threatened by urbanisation (well, dogs, but not this wimpy dog!) and a parasitic bacterium called Chlamydia. The male's call sounds like a snorting pig, the females squeal like a tortured infant. Cute, though ;-)
