Malik is Algerian, so he's AFRICAN. As you can see, he's dak skinned. There's a difference between calling someone from the mid-east=Arab & someone from North Africa...Maghreb. And the music is Algerian style rai mixed with funk & soul. Don't be hatin' on the north Africans! Slave in America didn't just come from West Africa, they also includes some northerners too..
