  • if you had bothered to actually tighten the battery terminals that helps, and continually pumping the gas pedal puts far too much fuel into the intake so it will cause it to ignite before it gets into the carb which is what you had going on, thats not a backfire.Backfire is unburnt fuel getting in the exhaust and igniting there.
