The Nation's Ari Berman, explained how progressives fought back against voter suppression, how Republicans used disenfranchisement to keep the House, how blocking the vote is starting to hurt Republicans with the broader public, Sam and Ari say Democrats need to get serious about expanding the right to vote, Sheldon Adelson is incredibly stupid and Citizen United still very, very dangerous...

Our most pressing issues as progressives moving forward are amending Citizens United, reforming the voting process so that what happened yesterday in Florida never happens again, and legislate the amount of $ that may be spent on a campaign as well as specific time-limits on campaigns.

I NEVER want to sit through another 18month+ campaign again as long as I live.

The libertarians are as fucked up as the GOP, until the conservatives in the libertarian party are thrown out like Ron Paul the Libertarian party will never be a viable choice. Libertarianism is as toxic as mainstream conservatism.

Florida, I'm glad I left, should get into so much trouble for this because this past election was ridiculous, while the whole country was waiting for their votes counted, was mainly because of discrimination.

I think you misunderstood what I meant by "polarized". Wasn't supposed to be an insult, I am just describing the nature of your political views fall to the left of the majority of the public on the political spectrum. It wasn't supposed tp be an insult. Do you really think the GOP and Dems have the exact same foreign, fiscal, regulatory, etc policy? You think if you green partiers had voted in Gore instead of handing the election to Bush that this world might be a little different?!

Do you have contact with people suffering or dying because they can't get medical care due to lack of insurance? You making a statement by not voting for Obama (and Obamacare, which Romney would have done everything to overturn) is not helping those poor kids. Romney is much more war hungry than Obama. I undertand your feelings, but potentially taking votes away from others who need what Obama can give them is not the answer. We need to search for more effective ways to fight against drones.

The 3rd Party(Green) is what rep. my veiws so It makes sense to switch rather than support the Corporatist, Warmongering, Right Wing Pandering, Reaganomics/Trickle Down Economics, Banker/Wallstreet Apologist Democratic party. Also I doubt most of my view are "Polarizing" that is f you consider Less(No) War, Ending of the war on Drugs, Prosecution of Banker/WallStreet Criminals, Direct Work Programs, Focus on Green Jobs, Environmental Security, Ending of NCLB/Fixing Education etc. Polarizing.

The Fact of the matter is your "Moderate" views and those of the "Majority of Americans" as you claim are not Moderate but Center Right and its these very policies that have America teetering on the verge collapse from Education to Foreign Policy. The fact is that it was LEFTIST policies those enacted by Progressives that allowed America to be what it is, we have had what 30 something years starting with that Fluke Reagan of you so called "Moderates".

That's fine, a healthy political system should represent a wide spectrum of views. However, policy should reflect the "moderation" of these 300,000,000 or so conflicting interests. You don't have to agree with me about the virtues of moderate pragmatism but there's no sense getting angry that the majority of Americans in the center don't agree with your more polarized stance...And what practical function could your switching to a third party serve? I guess that's the moderate pragmatist in me.

I have nothing against "Moderates" but my problem is that as a Progressive my views are becoming null and void as the Nation continues to move toward the Right. As a Former Republican/Blue Dog Conservative Obama should be YOUR dream come true, but to me he is a wolf in sheeps clothing, You Moderate Republicans can HAVE the Democrat Party, True Progressives such and as myself need to stop being delusional and start supporting the Green and Libertarian Parties. Screw the Democrats.

the night before election day I had a dream about the Drone Strikes. Ive never been so worked up over politics before the thing that depressed me the most was an Obama Aid saying "Well its either THEIR 4yr olds or OURS" that has to be the most vile thing I have ever heard, came from OBAMA's team. At least the Ill people have lived a decent life. there are Kids my age in Pakistan living in fear of Obama's Human Rights atrocities. At least the Ill here in America will never know that fear
