the 6 finale is probably one of the most fearsome, frightening, "Tragic" pieces of music ever written. Especially the opening as you say. It turns the dream-like concept from earlier movements into a hopeless, horrifying, disturbing nightmare.

  • @TheThingInItself it's the best part for me ^^

  • is so beautyful

  • oo this movement is great!!

  • Gran compositor

  • @EDGJZConglomerate An ideal finale to the symphony that proceeds the even more experimental 7th, eh?

  • I never listened to this finale, but that opening has got to be Mahler's most ghastly/experimental opening ever! Almost Schoenbergian!

  • I'll say, the brass is pretty good in this recording.
