Kops and Channarong were both very good athletes and Kops, in particular, had plenty of power when he wanted to use it, but I think the difference between them and the type of game developed by Tan Xian Hu, Hou Chia Chiang, and Hartono was that the latter players developed a fitness, and a footwork geared for attacking singles. Rather than "meandering" (by comparison) to the back court to return a well hit clear defensively, they could "zoom" to the back and attack shots that others couldn't.

Apt description.Kops was not known as Ironman for nothing, he could outlast most of his opponents.Once he played a very famous attacking player from I think Thailand, and the Thai player ended up sick.Kops after consulting Eddy Choong did develop a hard smash to add to his arsenal. Later on I will upload some articles on Kops to add to the articles written about him in badmintondenmark website.

The stout figure facing the camera from 10 seconds onward is probably Indonesian player Tan Joe Hock.
