@FateStayNightOST Emiya became a Counter Guardian thanks to his skills and abilities instead of receiving a god like something (like a blessing, item, curse, etc) like people become Heroic Spirits for. Also Counter Guardians retain their memories after returning from their mission that prevents the destruction of the world by the hands of human (which the fifth Holy Grail war would have resulted). Also, Arturia (Saber) has been summoned as a Saber more than once.

...Usually, a Servant does not hold memories of previous summonings. The same hero will not be summoned as a Servant again....
