Flint can't compete with labor that is cheaper than the slave were back in the in the 17-18hundreds. Here's something to think about. think about health care and more. If you own a slave, and had paid money, invested in them, you took care of that slave to protect your investment. Over in some other countries, a worker get hurt or killed, who care, get another on for 25cents and day. Question is, What is worse? How can flint compete with this labor force?

@bigblockcutlass123 - Good Question. I hope I have a good answer. The question is: How can Flint (or any city in the US) compete with slave wages in underdeveloped countries. The answer: import taxes. The US is one of the only developed nations in the world without them. In the early days of our nation, our government decided against import taxes to encourage international commerce and trade. This did a great deal towards making the US a success in a hurry. @bigblockcutlass123 - Cont'd...However, that same policy now allows goods to be sold for far cheaper than we can afford to keep up a decent standard of living. Most developed European and Asian countries have import taxes that make certain that US goods sold in their countries are far more expensive than their domestic goods. We should do the same. If you want to sell in the US, pay the price. If a Chevy is $20k, the comparable Toyota should be $35k after the import tax.

Yep. The unions came in and the jobs moved out. Just went back through Flint a few days ago to visit family and friends and that place is an absolute wasteland.

I prefer this vid to the new one-I rank it right up there with This Corrsion by pseudotones for showing what Flint, MI has become. GM and many other corporations began to buy land in Mexico in the late 50's knowing that eventually we would have a corporationist democracy. When you can pay a dollar an hour and fire someone for getting hurt at work....well try to find much mae inthe USA in your average dept. store. I hope to be able to move back to Flint, MI one day. It will always be home.

It's nothing to do with unions. It's the inflationary dollar and the corporations need for profit.

Inflationary dollar -> rise in prices -> rise in wages to keep up with prices (even though the average wage has lost ground) to keep consumerism up for corporate profits. To get higher profits corporation are trying to drop the wages section even though it will lower consumerism. But profit shortfall these days are made up from financial investments and creative accounting less to do about jobs.

The UAW agreed to let GM send jobs over seas because they where too lazy to work those jobs and do the out sourcing that they've GM has been doing since the last big strike of '96. The real problem is over paid and under worked Unions with outrageous and counterproductive demands like job banks and the first day of hunting being a paid day off

The unions didnt ruin Flint, the niggers did. When there was unions and car business Flint was good. Now its just a fuckin ghetto and drugs and crime. If you dont believe that, you dont live there. Just drive downtown on a weekend around midnight on Saginaw Street and watch, look, and listen. Its not union people there, its niggers enjoying a destroyed city thay created.
