Couple hours earlier, I was eating some stuff and a scene from CSI where they dissected a human head and brain appeared. I was cool and continued with eating like a boss.

BUT, when I watched Black Swan and those quills and 'skin rash' started appearing I almost ripped my eyes out.

Scarred for life.

I have to say that the movie isn't completely about the dancing. It's about a character going insane to be perfect. The dancing is amazing and it's not that big of deal that a stunt double was used. I still love the part where she turns into the black swan onstage even though it wasn't Natatlie. My favorite shot in any film last year. It's about the filmaking and sometimes certain things need to be sacrificed. My number two film of last year by the way!

So wrong and you insult the ballet dancer with your ignorance. All the ballet dancing here is the professional ballerina. Utterly brilliant head replacement cgi tho'.

Reminder to all film fans who know nothing of the performing arts outside H'wood - Classical ballet is not stunt work!

I remember seeing this same featurette long before the Oscars, and they had shown how they changed it from Sarah's head to Natalie's. I went to show a friend a week later, and the video was made to show that it was Natalie the whole time. For Oscar reasons obviously, but it's still something I would like for them to show because the CGI work that went into changing a head on a moving body really impressed me.

yeah but natalie won the oscar because she acted insanely amazing in this movie. Maybe she didn't dance all the parts by herself. Technology's levels are increasing and the methods of filming are changing and 'coz all of the CGs doesn't mean that Natalie had it more easier that way she had to work really really hard anyway. That's my opinion and I think that she really deserved that Oscar for sure. She worked super hard and did a fabulous job :P

I sorta agree and see your point, but I also agree with NecrosHun06. The overall professionalism of the dancing in the transformation scene was done by her body double, yes.  At the same time, Natalie had to duplicate the dancing so the animators can CGI and do their magic to blend both Natalie's and her double's bodies/heads together to make it all work. I think she did deserve the Oscar for her performance overall, but yeah maybe if the dance was all hers :)

Why did they not mention that they placed natalies head over Sarah's in the dancing scenes? Natalie only did little bits and arm movements.
