Continuation of Part 2a, using stainless steel plates 1mm thick, we used plastic separators, about 2mm gaps, with Neutral plates..the array was [-N+N-N+N-]. Our power supply is still the same RPS 12VDC with 25 amps capacity. Bear in mind, this is done with very limited materials... McGyverism approach was key. I coul use some PVC check valves and ammeter though. At any rate, safety is made possible with our make shift bubbler which was taken from our washing machine, sealing them with Epoxy and later on with RTV silicon used for cars. I wanted to do this project alone beforehand on a later date, but since I am also aware of the urgency to make this a greener earth, I made it a group effort. Credits goes to Reden and Ronnie also who is as enthusiastic as I am doing this initial experiments. I will try doing tube cells later on which is much more efficient... but getting more experience about safety in the process is more important for us at this time. During the course of this experiment, while I was still busy away from the workshop, Reden accidentally blew up one of the secondary containers... it was a loud bang... the cause was a sparkback or flashback... we need to improve those flash arrestors. I hope you enjoyed and learned something on this amateur experiment.

  • it's just like any water pipe system... if you are fmailier with those smoke pipes used in mid east countries... same thing. Water filtering is merely to trap solid sediments... but it doesnt filter the gas quality. Gravity also plays a role here.

  • Thanks very much!... we didnt use any... since we couldnt find one anyway...we used cigarette filters we found in the bin.

  • DON'T USE ANY ASBESTOS - even 100 microscopic fibers can cause cancer. Read the book, "Outrageous Misconduct" by Paul Brodeur. Don't work in any company that makes you use asbestos -- it will cost you dearly -- your life!

  • You guys are very resourceful! Can you explain the theory of the linear bubbler design?

  • Gee, thanks!... the cigarette but is an excellent idea. Now I have to look for a smoker. I stopped smoking for years and the rest of the guys with me don't smoke either. hmmm... but I can probably find some asbestos material and fiberglass around the workshop. Thanks for commenting... I really appreciate it.

  • "McGyverism approach was key.." Exelent! :D

OK so for a flashback-arrestor use a Cigarette Filter. Its very cheep an works perfect. I use it! Just place a Cigarette Filter at end, in the gas-line. Bee safe!
