First off, I despise this video and my crappy riding, plus the ponies are just fooling around so no amazing form or anything. They aren't high jumps so of course they won't be tucking their knees up to their eyeballs, esp. Empy she was like, WEEEE WHO CARES ABOUT WHERE MY KNEES GO! But I think its great for their introduction to "water". Clips are of both Red and Empy, Red's the slower more "huntery" type with the big star, Empy's the spazzy one =] Prepare for a large update LOL. So much has changed in my life recently. I am getting an equine business degree and definitely going to work in the equine industry now. My personal life has been so topsy turvy its been special.

But things are def. starting to look up, Empy and I have an AMAZING opportunity coming our way. We are going to be participating in a National Jumping Program for young/inexperienced horses. Empy will be the FIRST horse of her breed to be registered and nationally ranked, the program rates you as Bronze, Silver or Gold and then ranks you according to zones and national standings, they also give you coaching and assistance. PRETTY FREAKING AMAZING HUH? So she will be a nationally accredited jumper and will hopefully keep working up the ranks, it goes until 4'3'' so needless to say we will be in it for a bit! Very excited about it all!

The season starts in Feb. but we won't be competing until march, though we shall be attending to meet people and etc. This program is not a regular competition, they focus on you and your horse individually and there are no ribbons, but I feel this is the best chance for us both, so it really isn't a loss to me that I won't be getting a ribbon to pin up, the experience is MUCH better! Plus the rating increases your horse's value by tenfold, as well as getting your name out there! Definitely cool! So a world record for the MFT, coaching, zone standings, points and potential $ all come out of this, plus it looks like SO MUCH FUN! Can't wait!!

I still can't believe how much crap I am getting about her and my riding though. I recently was told by someone WHO DOESN'T RIDE, that I "hinder" my horse and don't know how to ride properly and if I ever wish to be competitive I need to sell Empy and purchase a warmblood. Psshhh. Really? I think it is ridiculous how under appreciated she is. She is a TOTAL SPAZZ yes, difficult to ride, yes, but she loves what she does, and is athletic, intelligent, loving and the best horse I have ever ridden and probably will ever ride. She can trot a 3'6'' fence and obv. doesn't have to try over anything so far as well as improving constantly on the flat. And EVEN IF SHE COULDN'T, I WOULDN'T CARE! This horse literally saved my life and has been amazing, and no fancy warmblood could ever hold a candle to how important she is to me.

Whatever, I will just keep pushing on my merry way.
I hope everyone has a truly marvelous Christmas!!
Thank you so much for everyone's support, I really appreciate it.

  • @empy5 Cool!!! Yeah, I would love to go to Sweet Briar, but they don't offer equine degrees and seem kinda strict, plus they are soooo far away. So, most likely UC Davis for me

  • @EmmaAndCasino: Aw thank you =] Red was more of the mind frame "I MUST ROUND OVER EVERY SINGLE FENCE, it was rather amusing while Empy is like, well this is just a bouncy stride haha. They are SO different. And thank you so much! Hopefully it goes well, it sounds like a neat thing to try ;]

  • @horsesofcourses1: Yeah the one I am going to is actually pretty nice, they have great facilities, they have their own breeding and training program, outdoor and indoor rings and etc. Plus it's so close it was just a win win situation, and oh yeah I forgot about Sweet Briar and UC Davis, those are beast =] Im sure whichever one you choose will be great!

  • Yay Empy, she looks great! That's fantastic to hear you're going to do the National Jumping! The first MFT, awesome! :D
