Today is my seventh day in the hospital, April 29, 2010 or Day 0!! That's right! Today was the big day- the day I received my bone marrow transplant. The infusion looked like a big bag of blood and was a huge 2 liters. It was an all day event. I had no reactions, and since the blood was fresh and there were no preservatives, I didn't even throw up! The marrow will take several weeks to graft to my body, if it even grafts at all. I am on anti-rejection medicine to prevent this, so this hopefully won't happen. I hope this is it. I hope it works. I've been fighting cancer for a year and a half, have had a stem cell transplant prior to this one, been thru radiation, seen my cancer morph into another, and well, had chemo in between all of these and nothing has put me in remission yet.
Keep watching to see what happens.
