@Ariamaluum He was probably betting on games; which means Mendy was corrupt, sorry to say: I watched him referee many games and he was good. Point shaving is still point shaving.

@deepcosmiclove. I know that and the retired from the game in 1975 due to a heart problem. But the man was only 53 years old when he passed. Likewise, I know he had gambling problems and isn't in the Hall of Fame. And he darn well should be.

@dennythedentist. According to a Chicago Tribune Story from 1993 by Mike Conklin, Bubbles was found murdered at a crackhouse.

@Ariamaluum That was Mendy Rudolf. He died of a heart attack and was with his wife at the time in a public place. The heart attack wasn't his first.

Bubbles passed in 1993; anyone know what happened? He died awful young -

@VertmanTVS You are so right. I was lucky enough to know Pete... I was a ball boy for two seasons for the New Orleans Jazz in the late 70's and also went two his Basketball camp twice. He was amazing... the most exciting, charismatic player ever. I miss him tremendously. Funny sense of humor to.

He was being a nice guy. No one could hang with Pete, trick or jump shots.
Maravich was a class act.

WWow, real basketball instead of hip-hop fake basketball

That ref died the next year under suspicious circumstances.
even though pete could be cocky in the best of ways, i like that you hear him say to bubbles, "if i had to shoot regular shots on you-no way."
