Folks were really freaked out when I said I was thinking about back-country camping in RMNP. I decided to lazy-man-way it out and just get a tent site. As you can see from my tour, it is hardly primitive nor dangerous in any way. It is nice to be away from your car and other people driving past your tent all night. Plus the sound of the river nearby was wonderful to sleep to. I will for sure grab this site again next year.
I like that there is a short walk into the sites... what campground was this? Did you have to reserve ahead of time?
