[1] New Super Mario Bros World Record 100% speed run in 2:26:20 (part 1 of 45)

This is the first segment of the World Record SDA run on New Super Mario Bros!

I am uploading special versions of the SDA videos just to show the main gameplay screen on the left with both screens on the right. I'm doing this to all of the rest of the segments (which I have done for almost a month ago). There will be 3 new segments uploaded per day. By the time segments 43-45 will be up New Super Mario Bros Wii should be out in the US regions.

This is what I said on Segment 1 of the Run

1-1: Not bad, UltimateDarius has found a better place to obtain the mushroom which is at the underground section of the stage.

1-2 (Alt): Picking up a Koopa before the balance board is used to collect a star coin without a small detour to the pipe.

1-2 (Normal): I made a Tools Assisted sample of this course and I checked that picking up the star saves time by just over 10 frames. So I collect the star for this run too, it makes the last half a bit easier at the most.

Getting everything that is important, clearing 8-Bowser's Castle all stages, all secret exits (except the 5-castle mini mushroom exit), using all of the warp cannons, picking up and spending every single star coin. Doing all of these tasks will give me 3 stars next to the player's file meaning 100% completed.

I've watched it but there is a problem you were doing a different goal. You did a real time Any% while I did a real time 100%.

I don´t take the small star to invincibility. Your record is 460, my is 462. Realy.

So do it again and you will be beat your record.

You mean 360 against your 362.

That's one level out of eighty, I mean it sounds like you heavily focused on that level alone and didn't do the previous levels in this segment (in other words, getting this stage flawless in the late part of the segment is difficult). The small star wasn't used for invinciblity but to run even faster, you might have found a better strat somewhere before or somewhere after the star.

What you've said only applies to a Warps run. This is a 100% run (noticed the title) which tries to unlock 3 stars next to the file as fast as possible, it's on Speed Demos Archive and it' is a World Record (for 100% runs of course).

to play as luigi push L and R buttons in and play the file you want it should say luigi as it loads
