@vanilajello1 First of all, it's not a very old tradition. Only a few decades back, girls were dancing without a head full of curls. Secondly, "wigless" is a fast-growing trend in Irish dance. I've seen champion-level dancers on the podium with straight hair.

I do irish. This is my fifth year. I started in 2 grade

@whiskeymeadowspike ok so for one the thing behind the curly wigs is when the girls went to church they curled thier hair, so their hair would always be curly for competitions...the curly wigs will always be in irish dance and always be in the irish tradition....get over it!

@IrishDancerAlaska97 My friend's surname is mctaggart :D hahaha. LOL.

@McTeggart That's silly about other schools stealing dances. Dancing should be there to be enjoyed and if you have a move that someone else likes - take it as a compliment that they would like to use it. The way you're talking it's almost like you buy and own the dances that you create and that's not the dancing spirit at all.

what feis is this at

What Organisiation Is This?
I'm an Irish Dancer too! Good Job, but be careful about putting your dances online. Other schools could steal your dances.

Wonderful dancing, but I hope I see the day when the awful curly wigs go out of fashion.
