what a band! probably the most under-rated of all the british 60's pop band. the move were up there with the kinks, the stones and the beatles. fantastic. roy wood - genius!!
:o)# Wonderful Too bad the sound is a bit oversaturated. But it probably is taken from a monoaural old VHS so quite old. Still this is far more enjoyable to me than a synced one with perfect sound from a CD!
Fabsolutely abulous! I've never seen this before...where was it recorded? And I never realized Trevor sang the second half of the bridge...what a great performance, thanks for posting it!
mikejaz2, this was recorded in Germany for the TV show "Beat Beat Beat". There's another post of this very performance on youtube with better sound and picture. Apparently, this and other performances by The Move and other bands are available on DVD from the UK.
Actually they had four lead vocalists, though only three feature on this clip. Trevor Burton sings lead on Weekend, Something Else, Vote For Me and several others - sounding very similar to Carl, but a wee bit throatier. Quite hard to tell them apart sometimes.
actually the debate over backing tracks and lip synching continues all over youtube (as in who did it and who didn't).... a lot of british invasion era bands, and 'classic' rock bands were stuck doing it because of the practices of live tv.

Roy Wood is a true genius.
