The cable stitch can be used while knitting scarves, mittens, sweaters, ponchos, blankets, bed socks, smocks, etc.

Thanks I like the hook after seeing it in action - just seems like you'd have to worry less about stiches slipping off by accident

This was such an awesome video. I have never been shown how to use the hook, and to be honest, everyone I see uses a dpn. But I out of trial and error (it did take me a few times using the hook backwards for me to realize that was not right lol) figured used it the way you just showed. I am glad that I have been using it right. Your video really helped me understand cables better. I will have to check out your books, because now I am addicted to cabling. :D
