@tweenyteen The actual logo was originally designed for two reasons. The first was to be easy to spray paint, like all the other logos of punk bands from the early 80's. The second reason was because it really pissed their parents off. The singe specifically mentioned that if he could go back, he probably wouldn't have used the logo because it can be so offensive. His other main idea behind the logo is an opposition to the unthinking dogmatic organized religion, not the religious themselves.

I'm reading Greg's book, and it talks about when they came up with the Crossbuster symbol. They chose it because it looked good, easy to reproduce on items, and they really just wanted to piss everyone off, since he and the other members of the band were punkers in high school.

I can agree with you from personal experience. I'm a christian and the first time i saw that symbol i was like "WOAH! red flag, back it up!" and was scared away for a week.
But i did more research into it, and over time Bad Religion became my one of favourite bands. I mean, i still dont like to look at the crossbuster, but i dont judge them based purely on it.
Plus, a lot of the songs gave me good messages. Like No Direction =D

Bad Religion: Fighting the establishment with big words and catchy tunes since 1979

I wish I were in Kyoto now.

@Algoody421 I wouldn't attribute it solely to BR, of course, but they've definitely had a significant influence on my desire to attain knowledge and develop wisdom.

@willyrobinson Regardless of whether or not you believe carbon emissions or man made climate change are a problem (or even exist), I was just clearing up the facts about what this song is about. I'm no scientist, nor do I typically agree with government regulation.
-
@IndecentIncident - its BS 'manmade climate change'. lol. It's a Globalist position designed not to save the environment, but push taxes, rationing, and restriction upon you based on a closed system of scarcity. It's bullshit and so are the 'politics' of this track. 'Anti-establishment' my ass.

@hayden11121 Kyoto is a Japanese city whose name means "capital city". Kyoto Now! is a student led activist group whose main focuses are climate control, and eliminating our reliance on fossil fuels for energy as much as possible. The group's name actually refers to the Kyoto Protocol, a treaty that compels a number of industrialized countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions (that G.W. chose not to sign). The message of this song isn't about something so trivial as American politics.
Im only as smart as I am now because of bands like bad religion. If they never used such elaborate and eloquent vocabulary, I'd have never wanted to understand it.....- signed "the world's youth"....(if only)

Does their logo means that they are anti-Christ???

@tweenyteen I'm sure this is going to go unnoticed, but do some research on the band. If you liked the music and took anything away from the lyrics, you may have a new take on things in a short time.

The band's logo says that they're not actually anti-Christ but they're just anti-establishment. However, my concern here is that, if they're not into the RELIGION thing, then why do they have to use a cross as a symbol? This may have a bad connotation to the young sector. This could also offend Christians. If they're against religions then they have their freedom to express-- The thing here is, they don't have to use a religious logo to make generalizations.

Major sects of Christianity use the crucifix as a religious symbol, and it depicts Christs death. Some very gruesomely. Many people would consider this offensive yet it's a staple religious symbol for Catholicism.
The symbol isn't as important as the message behind the symbol/people that use it.
They admit that it does turn alot of religious people off to them before they even hear a note of the music, but people need to learn to keep an open mind and not judge at first glance.
