Zattana ask Oliver to help her get back her father's legacy book. But Oliver refuses it. But, finally Oliver stole it but when he find out that the book of magic is something dangerous, he refuses to gives it to Zatanna. So, Zatanna doesn't have another chances be sides to grab it.

I really need to catch up on this show, has Smallville ever had any comicbook writers scripting that show? I'd kill for someone like Bruce Timm or Gail Simone to do an episode of this show.

Yes it would have been cool to see Batman but for everyone who wonders this, Bruce was in like China training still when Clark had evolved into super man, it wouldn't make sense to have Batman just show up during the series, unless they continued the series having him be super man. Oliver was the replacement for Bruce and it worked, the time lines wouldn't have worked if Batman was too early. Funny enough, They were planning a Batman origin series but it failed, and Smallville took it's placelol

@drownoble well, when Smallville was on the first producers such as Al Gough and Milles Millar, I think the changes were good and excellent. They did research comic book and characters on it. But, they decided to bring their own interpretation.

@klran26 That's why I could never get into this series, they just drifted too far and too often on characters. I can understand slight changes, like hawkman can retract his wings, but many things they did here were almost like the writers weren't familiar with the comics or animated series.
