This is a charming track of a song that was a favourite popular song for 400 years! The whole is album is excellent, not just this track. It's available on iTunes, or (better) direct from the musicians:

David and Ginger Hildebrand specialise in colonial and American Revolutionary music. I think they perform for school groups and such in their area. I have one of their other albums and it's pretty good too.

  • This song isnt American, its from England

  • Used this in my U.S. History report; one of the most popular numbers in the colonies during the 1600s, and I can tell why; it's a great song.

A bit of additional information; it was written for the European musical: "The Beggar's Opera"

  • this is beautiful
