he sparkles because when vampire venom is injected into a human, it gets pumped in the bloodstream until every cell in the body is saturated (which takes around four days). the venom is reflective, which causes small clusters of it under the skin to reflect bright light.

Vampires in most folklore either burn to death or become weak and powerless when they enter sunlight. In some cases, they are not affected at all by sunlight. The deal is, historically, a vampire is a corpse which has been reanimated by an evil soul entering the heart. Basically, they are a different form of a zombie which is controlled through the heart rather than the brain. Also, just saying, vampires in ancient lore are more creature than man. They are rotten reanimated corpses. Just sayin.
