0:32! "welcome back.i know it wasn't easy. did it go well?" and then - 0:32. that was delightful. it had me laughing, about the kid's tenacity+about these mean grownups who don't want him.

the simplicity with which this is told grows on me. the kid doesn't even talk, and it'd be a stretch to say that he's a great child actor, but his constant sullenness+body language, along with the music, make me feel sorry for him. adults who can take him in are always shooing him away, saying they hate kids+don't want to take responsibility for him. it just makes you want somebody to take him in+take care of him. i like how this is built so far. i can identify.
