Jon Lord, Ian Gillan, Ian Paice and Roger Glover talk about Jon's overdriven / distorted Hammond organ sound(mostly referred to as "The Beast") used on various Deep Purple records, albums such as In Rock, Machine Head and Made In Japan. Jon also gives a nice demonstration, playing the organ solo from Highway Star. Truly a great piece of Deep Purple history!

  • @BruderSeth: Of course I came up with that. But unfortunately everybody uses my phrase.

Well, I'll think about your advice, you seem to have experience. Best regards.

  • @IgHul666 wow, how original, did you come up with that yourself?

how about you go fuck yourself?

  • my 2 fav at one time, uriah heap and deep purple, and generally with sabboth it was either or , liked em but they werent deep purple right?right on

  • I liked Made in Japan for about 4 months and Machine head for about 7 days. There has never been more ego in a smaller room than that band or we'd still hear it all the time. Ok battle of the bands Deep Purple or Uriah Heep. And Uriah Heep wins by a landslide. Dufus it's my opinion and purple sucks in my world. so don't go there.

  • At 3:01, Jon Lord activates the metal and melts the collective faces of the world.

  • Dear Lord,

please rock the Organ backwards and forwards again

    Rock out.

  • @hemnjc Nonsense. It's exactly the right amount of distortion. You want too much distortion, try Mayhem.

  • @whitbyjet65 i KNOW, BUT IT'S THE BEST ONE THEY did, THEIRS OR NOT....MY MISUSE OF TERMINOLOGY, I stand corrected, sort of, kinda. Just like Led Zeppelin, mostly did covers of dozens of others. HUSH is terrific!

  • @cengeb Deep Purple didn't write Hush. They covered it.

  • @IgHul666

Actually 240 bucks, which wouldn't be all that bad..
