Saint-Marc (Haitian Creole: Sen Mak) is a coastal port town in western Haiti in the Artibonite Department. Its geographic coordinates are 19°7′N 72°42′W.
The port of Saint-Marc is currently the preferred port of entry for consumer goods coming into Haiti. Reasons for this may include its location away from volatile and congested Port-au-Prince as well as its central location relative to a large group of Haitian cities including Cap-Haitien, Carrefour, Delmas, Desarmes, Fond-Parisien, Fort-Liberté, Gonaives, Hinche, lArtibonite, Limbe, Pétionville, Port-de-Paix, and Verrettes. These cities, together with their surrounding areas, contain about six million of Haïtis eight million people.

Haiti, Artibonite, Saint-Marc.

Band Connection: Nu Look, Les Formidables de St-Marc, Diable du Rythm de St-Marc, Les Afros de St-Marc, Les Virtuoses de St-Marc ect...

Ti Manno began his singing career in St-Marc, he started singing when he was just a boy at a catholic school in St-Marc.

He began his career in the late 60s with the Les Diables Du Rythme a band from St-Marc, the same year he started playing for the band Les Formidables de St Marc.

In the 1970s he began playing for a very popular band called Volo Volo, he left Volo Volo and went to the Astros band. Shortly after in 1978 he was singing for DP Express one of the biggest Haitian band. While he was with DP Express, hurricane David destroyed part of the Caribbean especially Haiti, the group dedicated the album David to the Haitian people and it turned out to be a huge success.

  • @scourtois1 Le Gou-T IS the greatest and I can attest to that! I stayed there last October (2011) and it was an excellent experience. Clean, perfect rooms, pool and a lovely courtyard. No bar but great coffee. Highly recommended and I will be there again this spring and bring my friends!
