The inner critic will never be happy no matter what we do and we will never banish it completely it serves a function. I find its best not to engage with its individual criticisms as it will always respond with more criticism leading to a further cycle of negative emotion, best to recognize it, let its criticisms flow through the brain like a stream without trying to directly fight it. It is the product of society and our upbringing and does not belong to our essential nature. Fantastic video

Wow, this is such an excellent portrayal of the inner critic. I love the interplay some really powerful messages about how to overcome it. Firstly recognizing it as in some ways a separate entity from yourself being able to catch it in action it only ever promotes fear and self loathing. Secondly recognizing its weaknesses. For me its that it only has power when we listen to it. Its fighting for its own existence.

Holy crap Oz, wow... you KNOW... and you're an artist, dude. Who gives a shit if you don't make any $. We don't have to starve to be artists. That's a lie the elite have laid down, because so many artists didn't make $ their art was worth $ after they fucking died! That's the conundrum, isn't it? It doesn't have to be that way. Anyhow, the common social constructs and habits that lead to negativity can be overcome with a specific program of positivity, since on the level of self-conditioning, it doesn't matter if it's a book you're reading or someone talking to you, the brain reacts the same way... I recommend "The Magic of Thinking Big" as a good starting point.
