The A minor sonata is the first of only two Mozart piano sonatas to have been composed in a minor key. Written around the time of the death of Mozart's mother, it is the darkest of his piano sonatas. The last movement in particular has an obsessive, haunted quality about it, heightened near the end by the interruption of the relentless drive to the conclusion by repeated and chilling quiet falling passages.

A lot of my videos have the same background noise because there's people talking and eating in the same room as me and I am there for their pleasure. Sometimes people are quiet and listen, but not always...

I face a horrible dilemma for my wedding this year. My mother (who hasn’t long to live) says the one thing that would make her happy would to be for my uncle to perform his ‘funny routine’, like he did for her wedding 50 years ago.

This is a tawdry, degrading ‘blackface’ medley- like a low-rent Al Jolson wailing out of tune. I have loads of black/mixed race guests coming, & it’s going to be the most embarrassing moment of my life…

.. the hazards of playing piano for people who can never truly appreciate it!! I've been in your place many times, but I used to find the background noise allowed me to 'forget' the audience were there (..that they mattered --harsh!!).. and really concentrate on connecting with the music. I think you've done a fab job, thanks for uploading!
