ASEAN six majors refer to the six largest economies in the area with economies many times larger than the remaining four ASEAN countries.

3 of which are included in the Next Eleven (11) list of countries, namely,
- Indonesia
- Philippines
- Vietnam

The Next Eleven, identified by Goldman Sachs investment bank as having a high potential of becoming the world's largest economies in the 21st century along with the BRICs(Brazil, Russia, India & China). The bank chose these states, all with promising outlooks for investment and future growth, on December 12, 2005.

  • Lol how stupid...

    Only 6 ASEAN?

Was like " they exclude one of the World Richest Kingdom that have HIGH standard of living and no poverty than other ASEAN countries, Brunei?

Wheres Cambodia? Wheres Myanmar? Are they the most POOREST State in ASEAN... The fact that i know, THESE COUNTRIES doesnt even have any debt to others which can be mean the most great state in ASEAN.

Racist..... I may be chinese but i dont hate the place where i born..

  • @DeDanielAOM Brunei wasn't included because it is only a $ 21.237 billion economy. Whereas with the other countries in this video:

    - Indonesia: 706.75 billions (1,033 billions)

    - Thailand: 318.91 billions (589 billions)

    - Malaysia: 237.96 billions (416 billions)

    - Singapore: 222.70 billions (293 billions)

    - Philippines: 199.59 billions (369 billions)

    - Vietnam: 103.57 billions (277 billions)

I am referring to SIZE of the economy and other possible factors in increasing it.

  • @DeDanielAOM Look at India... it is one of the leading economies in the world like China, Having a GDP (PPP) Worth $4.469 trillion, but it is still cursed with poverty and other problems that is also being experienced by countries in this video.

  • @DeDanielAOM Factors for economic growth are also considered. Brunei heavily depends on its oil reserves. What happens if the oil runs dry? Countries in this video like the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, YES they have visible poverty, but doesn't rely on a single source of economic sustenance, they have what we call manpower (a non-depleting asset) and other source of economic growth that they might exploit. Not only that, these 6 countries have a HEAVY DOMESTICALLY DRIVEN ECONOMY...

  • What a joke. There is no point when there r about ten countries in ASEAN. six major leading? It's like ya trying to compare ur 3"dick with ur neighbors 3.5" dick. Pathetic childish south east asian... I c why south east asia doesn't change for over half century.

  • @Alonerwolf713 Sir, I am just showcasing what are the FACTS... This six nations really surpassed the other nations (not included in the video). Again, they are classified as the ASEAN six majors refer to the six largest economies in the area with economies many times larger than the remaining four ASEAN countries. Not only that.. These countries (individually) have been considered to have the potential of becoming an economic powerhouse in Asia & the World. What more if they stood as one group.

  • @DeDanielAOM This video doesn't promote racism... This is to show the viewers (who doesn't have any idea of what is ASEAN is) the LEADING ECONOMIES of South East Asia. And That is a FACT... I am not putting down other countries not included in this video. This is to show the world that what is ASEAN NOW. (Achievements) I know that the other non-included countries would do the same, gaining significant economic and political growth. The question is when will it happen.

  • no matter how strong you think your country is, your country still do need the support of each other countries... come on stop with this bullshit saying who's country is better, cheers

  • @hjtjl I'm not sure what is your point?

  • @euphranic Singapore is led by Chinese named Lee Kuan Yew, that is why Singapore is at the top, also 75% of the population are Chinese. Still the current leader is Chinese.
