My Mum and Dad's wedding (Dennis & Margaret Francis) 1966 St John the Baptist chuch, The Dingle, Liverpool. There is no sound because it has been converted from cinny film and it was too damaged. They salvaged only 4 mins of film. It's Fantastic!
They were entering the Church Hall in Steble St., not the church. The magnificent spired church had been demolished. THis was probably for the reception. The railings were still left up. The TSB bank can be seen in Park Rd. The last shot is of the waste ground at the side of the church hall in which an old people's home was built. The street seen in the background at the end Essex St.
Yes I had my wedding recorded on cine camera in the 60s too. Hammer Films bought it and destroyed it as they couldn't compete with all the monsters who turned up that day !
I really enjoyed this. I was married the same year, same suits and ties! We managed to get our cine film transferred to DVD but I can't watch it, I just get choked up . It's just so sad to see my old mum and dad and all the relatives who are all long gone now. Many thanks.
omg cant believe what Ive just watched... I had family lived in Dingle House, and I knew all the Francis's and the Mitchells, hung about with Dennis and Alfie, and my cousin Terry Dooley is actually the one clowning around on the film. It s great to see all the old neighbours again!!!
Lovely video. My mum also grew up in the Dingle and ha mentioned the church in Steble Street many times. Great to see the fashions of the time too.

Fantastic video. We had out marriage filmed as well in 1977, but we've only seen it once. The guy who took it disappeared!
