state and federal government don't receive profit from PRIVATIZE prison inmates but, individual politicians and other entities receive campaign donations from the private prison industries for strict drug enforcement laws, in turn government awards prison with big contract for their service. it's hard to elaborate due to the character limit on youtube, but their is obviously a beneficial relationship between private prison, government power, and law enforcement.
