It was my experience (being raised Protestant and now being Orthodox) that refusing to honor the Lord' Mother essentially stems from an incomplete understanding of the word "Lord."

Extraordinaire!

Well did He say you count how many times a person appears
in the Bible because that is basis on how
important they are?
I guess, for your own interpretation, they are
unscriptural.
But, if you are on your quest on finding the Truth
then you will find out later on.
God loves you!

It matters because the word of God IS truth, according to Jesus (y'know, Mary's kid). Likewise, concepts and catchphrases like 'Sacred Heart' are unscriptural.
-
Does it really matter how many times Our Blessed Mother is mentioned in Scripture?
How is the number of times she is mentioned in the Scripture connected with the Truth?
But you know what, the Word of God is not given to us to be argued or debated upon, but to be lived.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
-
And this alleged 'mother' of the Church gets how many mentions in the NT? Read the Bible and wake up to the truth, you poor idolatrous creature.
-
I remember God telling us, "Honor your Father and your Mother."
And I remember Our Lord, crucified, say to John, "Behold they Mother!"
It is such that when we look to Mary as our Mother, we represent John- whom Jesus loved so much. Ah! Then from this the Church draws her joy and strength- that when we stray and lose our way, our Mother, Lovely as she is, leads us back to Her Son.
-
Ditto.

God's will that all graces come through her? Funny how no one in the Bible mentioned that. The Nt authors must really be clowns to fail to mention that one.
sigh...i am tired of these arguements....I am a 19 year old Catholic..i came to know Jesus wen I was 15 and I did not have the support of my family. I loved my family and wanted them to come to Mass with me instead of going alone. I prayed the Rosary earnerstly for them asking Mary to pray for them so that Christ will be born in their hearts. Now my entire family loves and serves Jesus and my partents are more zealous about it than I am! Mary is my Mother and I love her....please dn't disrespect

Of course Virgin Mary is not God, but she is the Mother of God. And it was God ´s will that all graces that comes to us comes through the hands of Mary, and all prayers He receive He receive through Our Lady. All this is wonderful explain in the books of St Louis Maria Grignion de Montfort, and it is explained by the theologians of the Church. This is the common and universal teaching of the Church. Very nicely exposed in this superbous Mgr. Fulton Sheen video!!! Thanks for posting!!!
