script:
Ellena: Well, I'm always hearing about this live well, play well stuff, but what is it anyway?
Sandra: Its self explanatory, isnt it? Living well, and playing well!
Caitlin: Yeah, but its just a bit more complicated than that. It all starts with healthy eating.
Ellena: Oh, like eating a tiny amount of disgusting fruits and vegetables.
Sandra: Ewww!
Caitlin: No! Of course not! Thats not healthy at all! The essence of healthy eating is achieving a balance in your diet. Basically, you are what you eat. Our body requires fuel that we get from food. eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy. What you eat can affect your immune system, your mood, and your energy level.
{EVERYONE COMES TO SIT BESIDE THE POOL}
Ellena: well, who sets the standards for all this? Who tells us what to do?

Caitlin: I guess its the Australian dietary guidelines

Sandra: Oh yeah theyre the ones that tell people to eat well and advise us how to with all those guidelines.

Ellena: Oh so, what are they exactly?

Caitlin: There are 5 of them.

To enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods
Prevent weight gain and stay in a healthy weight range.
To care for your food
And encourage and support breastfeeding

Ellena: woah cool.

Caitlin: and then theres the five food groups.

Sandra: Oh yeah! I know! I know! Okay

1.Fruit
2.Vegetables
3.Protein - this includes lean meat, fish, poultry, eggs, nuts, legumes
4.Grains - this includes bread, cereals, rice, pasta and noodles
5.Dairy - this includes milk, yoghurt, and cheese

Caitlin: Yeah, and youll need to eat a number of serves from each group depending on your age and how active you are.

Sandra: Yeah, thats energy balance isnt it? Your energy balance is the balance of calories consumed through eating and drinking compared to calories burned through physical activity.

Ellena: Yeah, so can I get energy balance?

Caitlin: Easy. Pretend your bodys a car, the fuel you put in is the amount you have to put out. Its all about balance, put a sensible amount of food in and burn off a sensible amount of energy.

{NEW SCENE: ELLENA IS DOING ASSORTED STRETCHES, SANDRA IS DOING CARTWHEELS, AND CAITLIN IS DOING SIT UPS.}

Caitlin: Yawn this myspace stuff is getting boring

Sandra: Yeah I know

Ellena: Hey, you know how we were talking about food and healthiness- Ive got another question, is physical activity, sport, and exercise, all the same thing?
Caitlin: No not really. You see, Physical Activity is a broad term meaning any bodily movement that uses up energy. Physical activity includes all activity that you do each day, including:
planned activities (such as sport or organised recreation activities like yoga, walking groups or aerobics classes)
incidental activities (such as household chores, gardening, walking to and from public transport or cycling for fun)
Sandra: Physical activity affects our overall health and well being as well as reduces the risk of disease. Regular physical activity can also assist in reducing blood pressure for someone with elevated levels. It increases lean muscle mass and helps decrease body fat, enhances psychological well-being, and can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and improve overall mood.
Ellena: Woah so who tells us all about this?
Caitlin: Well, lets have a look- looks on computer- The Australian Physical activity Guidelines.
Says aloud:
1. Think of movement as an opportunity, not an inconvenience
2. Be active every day in as many ways as you can
3. Put together at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on most, preferably all, days
4. If you can, also enjoy some regular, vigorous activity for extra health and fitness

It says here that ythe purpose of these guidelines is to advise people to make healthy decisions about the way we are physically active, and spend our time moving.
Ellena: Awesome, Im gonna put these in to practice!
