This is some rare and long lost footage of a Space Kelly playback performance on TV Berlin from 1998. Here he stars together with a rather unusual band that was put together just a few hours before this performance. This mysterious line-up only appeared once and therefore especially for this performance of "Die schönsten Mädchen gibt es in Amsterdam".
The little Bontempi organ was played by Bela, who was reading his notes from an old Berti Vogts book while standing on a wooden box to make the organ look even smaller.
To make the bass look extra ordinarily huge, lovely Sylvie seemed to be the perfect pick. Here she was not only looking great but also seemed to be dancing to her very own rhythm (and not really to the song). But it sure is the drummer giving the most impressive appearance here. Berlin's legendary King of Indie-Pop-Parties "Spencer" Theile did a once in a lifetime performance on drums. Playing with chop sticks from a Chinese Restaurant and an invisible kick drum he really kicks ass. Check out his unbelievable relaxed break in the middle of the song. That day Space Kelly himself was too lazy to take his guitar (too heavy) to the studio and instead decided to bring an inflatable instrument (not so heavy). What a crazy day! Some people might have recognized the TV announcer Ruth Moschner who later became a popular TV personality in Germany.
