except this famous one ... maybe that's why the singer is heading home? :)

Debrecen is a Hungarian city. It's got nothing to do with any Ukrainian song...

Jeszcze Ukraina nie pomerła

Як я їхав з Дебречина до Хусту,
Знайшолем я вишиваную хусту...
Ой, чи мила, чи не мила ю шила,
Лем би она, лем би она вишиваною била.

Song: Чорна Кура (The Black Hen)
Як я їхав з Дебречина додому,
Зайшла мені чорна кура дорогу.
Іди, іди, чорна куро, додому,
Не завадзай, не завадзай по дорозі нікому.

The song is called Chorna Koora or Чорна Кура

Fantastic! Do you have a contact for their CD ?

There's an email address on the homemade cd, this might work: shkrum-pashnik@yandex.ru. Let me know if you can get this song on a cd as the one I bought doesn't have it!

Hi david10595 !
The e-mail adress you gave doesn't work at all. What a pity ! I'd like to get the CD of this singer/bandourist. Could you write his name in cyrillic caracters, and overall do you know the tittle of the song ? Is it a traditional ukrainian song ? Would be very kind of you. You may answer in French, English (phonetically) or in Russian. Many thanks.

Hi vanioucha,
I will copy the names in cyrillic characters as soon as I find the CD. As for the title of the song, it is "On the road home from Debrecen", a popular Ukrainian song apparently.

From what I can read on their homemade cd that I immediately bought afterwards, the musicians names are Viktor Pashnik & Oleksiy Mikolaychuk (well it's in Cyrillic characters but should be close). I wonder if they have a website!
