Elk ridge knives are ok if you stay within their hunting line don't buy their survival and or tactical line for some reason the brand doesn't translate to survival style well due to cheap material's.I have this knife and I've used knives and sharpened so much cutlery being a cook I care not to remember"I know how to use stone's,ceramic's and honing steel's very well and this knife will not hold an edge!

I had this knife and the handle broke, I was batoning tree limbs and the rubber handle slided off the tang.....crappy ass knife and useless if the handle slides off.

i bought this knife a few months ago and i chopped down big ass tree branches with it. good knife for the low price.

My neck is thicker than the knife is long the best part of the blade is there is a spot to hit it with a hammer when splitting wood to make a bat.

Thanks for the info. I just bought one of these Elk Ridge knives and it is nice as well as very sharp out of the box. Here in California, they had them for sale at Big 5 Sporting goods. It was on sale for $18.00, It is a good knock off. Love this knife. Holster is ok, hey for this price, I can always look for a better holster.

They should be sold for $9.99 using cheap 440a steel made in a Chinese sweat shop by long duck dong that has no clue of what quality cutlery even looks like.This guy bought by design not for quality though and that's cool if you're not going to use it much and need to sharpen it hardly;then it's ok to have an knife that won't hold a true edge.Watch out for Chinese and never never ever buy a Pakistan knife those Pak knives are so bad they must be made of tin.

I got one myself I sharpened it and it's one bad mo fo!!!! The sheath sucks tho! do you agree? I'm gunna pick up a leather one if I find a good one i'll let you know where I got it from. Just a lil info for you Elk Ridge is made by Browning which make decent knives for the money.

@TheJmac1983 yeah i hate the sheath , I'd like to have one with more mounting options like my s&w knife has. Oh ok i had no idea browing makes them ...i couldn't find the knife online any where haha ...I love this knife !
