1969s obscure Minnesota garage band that their single was reissued by Metromedia in 1970. Fantastic garage-soul version to Little Flint's "Pain"!

  • Great Garage Band from Minnesota first heard this on 63 KDWB AM

  • Awesome! Very good. Heard about this band from one of the band member's daughters! Cool! Thanks for sharing!!!! :)

  • this group was the hottest in 69 at locates in no.st paul i so looked up at the lead guy .was he a puerto rician?

  • @t26591

    I'd love that too!

  • I have an original acetate of this recording... THE LEGENDARY Willie Weeks was the bassist on this recording. I was fortunate enough to play bass in this group in early '78. The Mystics were a premiere group in the Twin Cities and featured for a time the combo of Willie Weeks AND Bill Lourdin.

  • I would love to get my hands on some of their live sets that they recorded in the Twin Cities. I use to go see them all the time. I know Butch recorded every set on a reel to reel.

  • I played with the band that made this song

was the Novas Nine from Mooresville NC

    there are 3 remakes I know of\

    the original is ours

B Mann is Bob Mann thanks

email is docdcc at the hot place wink

    thanks

  • I started collecting oldies in Dallas in 1984 after being jolted back in time while listening to Lulu's To Sir With Love and Joe South's Don't it Make you Wanna go Home. After searching every possible venue and almost 30 years later I think I'm down to just one,Michael's Mystic's Pain. I knew it had to be out there. Now I can rest. Anyone remember The Hot Half Dozen?

  • @whiteray1 yes, they were also known as the Mystics later in their band career. they played at Bel Rae, LoCates in north st. paul, at my homecoming for Hill High School in 69. they always were the head band when 2 bands played the same night. mystics played like pro's compared to the other bands in the Twin City area during the late 60's and 70/71/72

  • Excellent Version :-)
