I have an original acetate of this recording... THE LEGENDARY Willie Weeks was the bassist on this recording. I was fortunate enough to play bass in this group in early '78. The Mystics were a premiere group in the Twin Cities and featured for a time the combo of Willie Weeks AND Bill Lourdin.
I would love to get my hands on some of their live sets that they recorded in the Twin Cities. I use to go see them all the time. I know Butch recorded every set on a reel to reel.
I started collecting oldies in Dallas in 1984 after being jolted back in time while listening to Lulu's To Sir With Love and Joe South's Don't it Make you Wanna go Home. After searching every possible venue and almost 30 years later I think I'm down to just one,Michael's Mystic's Pain. I knew it had to be out there. Now I can rest. Anyone remember The Hot Half Dozen?
@whiteray1 yes, they were also known as the Mystics later in their band career. they played at Bel Rae, LoCates in north st. paul, at my homecoming for Hill High School in 69. they always were the head band when 2 bands played the same night. mystics played like pro's compared to the other bands in the Twin City area during the late 60's and 70/71/72
