I did that to my Grand Dad's watch when I was 10. I ended up breaking the movement after I successfully opened it.
So unless you know what you're doing, don't open a watch.

Love it!!!

Smart idea, but the back on my watch is too tight for this to work (at least with my crappy scissors). Fortunately, you can find a case wrench on Amazon for under six bucks.

I really apreciate you for posting this vid..I try twizzer, prying it open using knife, twist it using hands, try to open using pliers, smashing with a hammer, and guess what, a pair of scissors from my mom kitchen really do the trick..

@DreamTree Using your suggestion, worked first time for me. Thanks for the slightly lateral thinking mate!

what if the watch back is so tight you cant turn it with scissors?

Brilliant. Thanks for the advice.

Any suggestions on what to do if the retainer ring is really tight??
Doesn't work for me. I'm using plastic scissors with metal blades. Do the scissors have to be all metal?

No. As long as you can fit the scissors blades into the slots and maintain them in there while turning it should be fine. Maybe the retainer ring on your watch is super tight. Good luck!

This method works regardless of if you're a professional or an amateur. So here's my idea: shut the fuck up.
By the way, your Archimede Pilot watch is too big for your puny wrist. It's a nice watch though. So why don't you go exercise some instead of writing nonsense here?

Happy to help! Hopefully you didn't scratch the watch's back as much as I did during my trial and error. :)
